Liverpool secured a dominant 4-1 away win against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium. Goals from Darwin Nunez, Alexis Mac Allister, Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo secured the three points for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Liverpool dominated possession in the first half but failed to test Brentford keeper Mark Flekken. The Reds came close through Nunez and Curtis Jones but neither could find the target. Brentford’s chances were limited with Liverpool defending solidly.

Five minutes into the second half, Liverpool broke the deadlock. Virgil van Dijk floated a ball to the back post where Diogo Jota squared for Darwin Nunez to lob home. Liverpool soon doubled their lead on the hour mark through Alexis Mac Allister’s strike from the edge of the box.

Brentford gave themselves hope with a goal against the run of play on 75 minutes. Sergio Reguilon played in Ivan Toney, who tapped home from close range. But Liverpool quickly killed off any Brentford comeback hopes. Mohamed Salah finished from close range after good work by Cody Gakpo. Gakpo then got a goal of his own in the 86th minute to make it 4-1.

Despite late pressure and chances for Brentford, Liverpool held on comfortably. The Reds were worthy winners through their superior quality and dominance of possession. Brentford struggled to contain Liverpool’s flowing attacks but did pull a goal back through Toney. In the end, Liverpool cruised to another three points on the road.
